MY 21ST BIRTHDAY! YES YES!

ABOVE IMAGE = JUST FOR LAUGHS HA

I missed a few posts thanks to my stupid ill self.. so ill fill you in! we have been set a new brief, we have to design a poster for a bus shelter and the side of a bus for Amnesty International (a company that deals with human rights issues)
also today...
Barry Tempest from Amnesty International came in to chat to us about how they work! I kind of hoped for a talk from one of the designers that deal with the Amnesty design work but he was pretty cool all the same!

KYLE COOPER/LONDRES TRIP :)

We went on a trip to London yesterday to see a lecture from a chap called Kyle Cooper (designer of motion picture title sequences) , it was really interesting  he spoke about his work, which is all pretty amazing! he's done the title sequences for the likes of Spiderman 1 & 2, Dawn of the dead, Flubber, The Mummy, Se7en and plenty more...He also spoke about the fact people compare his work to the work of  Saul Bass.

We also took advantage of the fact we where in london for a whole day and took photographs and drew some squiggles that resembled things of interest on our journey around the large busy city!

LETTERPRESS YES!

First letterPress session today!! we got asked previously to bring in a poem about a journey.
We had to pick a few words from this to print using letterpress the lady showed us how to stick the blocks together (the wrong way round) using masking tape and how to use the machines was an all round decent day! I enjoyed learning something new :)
now Im just about to start some research on Alan Kitching the successful typographer/graphic designer.
